Australopithecus sediba appears to be the direct precursor (or a close relative of the direct precursor) to the genus Homo. It shares many features with earlier Australopithecines – such as a small brain size – but also has hips, teeth and face that are more similar to members ofHomo.
Behaviour
- Au. sediba had a varied diet, consuming leaves, fruits, bark, sedges and grasses. However it ignored many resources of low nutritional value
